3. Lead Like Jesus
The Heart, The Head, The Hands and The Habits
Anytime you influence the thoughts, actions or behaviors of another, you are engaging in leadership. Anyone from CEO to support staff has opportunities to lead, and this seminar will help you learn practical tools for Godly and effective leadership.

Influence! Lead Like Jesus believes that anytime you influence the thoughts, actions or behaviors of another, you are engaging in leadership! Is anyone more influential in the life of a child than a parent? That’s leadership! Who influences a sporting team more than a coach? That’s leadership! Who challenges worshipers to commit to the Lord? The Pastor! Is he or she a leader? Yes! Who influences employees most? Is it always the CEO? No, sometimes it IS positional leadership like a CEO but often it is someone further down the ladder that provides the greater influence in an organization.

Is all leadership good leadership? Of course not, we can all cite examples of leaders who misused their opportunities and thousands suffered. Poor leadership affects countries, counties, cities, churches and families! There is a right way to lead that produces right relationships and right results and that is Jesus!

If you are going to lead by your influence (and we all do for either good or not) then you will want to lead the right way! Lead Like Jesus believes that good leadership starts on the inside – with your heart! You must first have a “heart attack” and become like Jesus in order to lead like Jesus!

Phyllis Hendry, President, Lead Like Jesus, Ga.

10. Expand Your Fundraising Capacity
Balancing (and Believing in!) God’s Provision and Human Activity
What does the Bible say about "direct mail", about "major gifts and matching grants", about "asking", about "pledges", about "the tithe." It's for the fundraiser who wants to know how to improve performance in the revenue areas he/she has and how to add new ones.  While many Christian organizations have strategies to raise money, few have examined their theology of God's provision and the place of human activity. This session explores the Biblical basis for fundraising and provides practical tools for building a productive revenue platform for ministry.
Our morning will look at ten character/incident studies from the Bible. We will define some principles and see resources to unpack a helpful, direction-setting theology for development. The afternoon will look at the 15 most common revenue streams used by nonprofit organizations, understand why they work and why they don’t, and how these are best used to support growth. We will look at tools to improve fundraising productivity and evaluate performance, and have discussion and Q&A about specific challenges to revenue growth.
